Firefighters Against Hunger firefighters against hunger

Every year, the Firefighters Against Hunger program gathers thousands of pounds of food to distribute to the local community. Donations go to families struggling to make ends meet and to the local Meals on Wheels program. To prevent the spread of COVID-19 we will not host a food drive this year. We are still accepting applications for help during these tough times through the application button below.

Holiday Assistance Program

The winter months can be a difficult time for many families. The Holiday Assistance Program enables families to purchase food and gifts. It also gives aid to families struggling to pay utility bills. Applications are due December 1st.

Arthur Petersen, Dennis E. Dearing Jr. and Norval Jones Scholarships

Every year, three graduating seniors who live in or attend high school in Auburn Hills receive a $1,000 scholarship. These scholarships honor the memories of three outstanding members of our department, Chief Arthur Petersen, Firefighter Dennis E. Dearing Jr. and Captain Norval Jones.

To be eligible, a graduating senior must be planning to attend a university, community college or vocational school in the upcoming academic year. The scholarship committee reviews all applications and selects three students. Helping Hands board members present the scholarships to the students in front of city council.

Mail a completed application to Auburn Hills Helping Hands Association, 1827 N. Squirrel Rd., Auburn Hills, MI 48326 by May 1st.
